SUMMARY:SER1: SomatoEmotional Release 1: Full Range of CranioSacral Therapy Tools for Supporting Gentle Trauma Resolution
DESCRIPTION:International Association of Healthcare Practitioners (IAHP) \n\n\n\nPre-requisite Workshop(s):CranioSacral Therapy 2 (CS2) in-person class or equivalent; and reviewing\, assimilating and applying what was presented in CS2. This course is intended for licensed or certified healthcare professionals. \n\n\n\nDescription:You will learn about the physiological mechanism of disease and will participate in hands-on training to facilitate the SomatoEmotional Release (SER) process. By the end of the course\, you should be able to dissipate residual effects of past trauma and negative emotional experiences from the body and mind of your patients/clients. In order to observe closure for sessions you are involved in\, please make sure the instructor is aware of any current pregnancies in your group. \n\n\n\nA helpful layperson description of the SER process is available for download at http://gofile.me/29lfe/H0CDJNBDK. \n\n\n\nAdvance Preparation:As a student transitioning from CS2 into SomatoEmotional Release 1 (SER1)\, prior to SER1 attendance\, it is recommended that you: \n\n\n\n~Continue practicing 10-step protocols that you started after attending CS1 \n\n\n\n~Give 20-25 complete mouth work protocols (the protocol is reviewed briefly in SER1\, but the expectation is that you are very familiar with all the techniques.) \n\n\n\n~Receive 6-8 full mouth work protocol sessions from someone skilled at the techniques (receiving is a great way to learn; look on www.upledger.com to find a therapist) \n\n\n\n~Practice arcing for energy cysts with your clients – arc at the beginning of every session. Learn to describe how you found the active lesion from a physical perspective\, and use this evaluation tool for every patient you treat. \n\n\n\n~Practice regional tissue release treatment of energy cysts\, along with the Significance Detector (SD) and be able to describe the SD. \n\n\n\n~Use whole body evaluation and treatment (including working with facilitated segments) in your treatment sessions. Be familiar with the benefits and drawbacks of all of the other whole body evaluation techniques. \n\n\n\n~Integrate CST into your treatment sessions wherever possible so that you may gain more confidence with all the techniques of CS1 and CS2—even if you are using a different treatment approach. \n\n\n\nTo complement the material that will be presented in the workshop\, it is recommended that students read SomatoEmotional Release and Beyond by John E. Upledger\, DO\, OMM\, available at http://shop.iahe.com/…/SomatoEmotional-Release-and-Beyond and Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher and William Ury\, available at http://shop.iahe.com/Product…/All-Products/Getting-to-Yes.. Your preparation and your participation are both very important. Your attendance is necessary during lab and lecture. \n\n\n\nThese recommendations have been prepared by the Upledger Institute Faculty after decades of experience in teaching CranioSacral Therapy. These guidelines will help ensure that you will be well prepared to get the most benefit in your next step of training. Preparation and practice time will lead to more confidence\, deeper learning in class\, and better outcomes for your patients. \n\n\n\nSupplies:When needed or desired\, you are expected to provide your own face mask and eye goggles/glasses for mouth work and other similar and appropriate lab times. \n\n\n\nAttire:Wear loose\, comfortable clothing (preferably no jeans.) A light jacket is recommended because temperature can be difficult to control. Due to potential chemical sensitivities of your classmates\, please refrain from wearing perfumes or oils to class. \n\n\n\nTimes:Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on the first day of class. Coffee and tea will be served until 9:00 a.m.\, at which time the workshop will begin. Subsequent class hours begin at 9:00 a.m.\, except the last day which begins at 8:00 a.m. \n\n\n\nDue to the nature of the work done in this course\, afternoon lab session ending times cannot be pre-determined – most stay as late as 6:30-7:30 p.m. each day in order to have lab completion\, and slightly earlier on the last day. We advise that you do not make evening commitments as session ending times vary. Please plan accordingly. \n\n\n\nMeeting Site/Lodging:Arizona School of Medical Massage and Wellness8279 W Lake Pleasant Pkwy\, Suite 106Peoria AZ 85382 \n\n\n\nNearby Hotels:Hampton Inn Peoria8408 W Paradise LanePreoria\, AZ 85382623.486.9918 \n\n\n\nDirections to Meeting Site:Please use Google maps for directions. \n\n\n\nCancellation/Refund Policy:Our preference is to have all students attend their class as planned. DESCRIPTION:SOLD-OUT!! Interested in a future class? Send your name and number to azmedicalmassageschool@gmail.com  \nCST 1 Course Description:This course is designed to introduce the basic components of the Craniosacral System. Building upon this base of anatomical and theoretical knowledge\, participants will learn a variety of safe and effective ways to influence the Craniosacral System and thus the environment that houses\, supports\, and nurtures the Central Nervous System. Participants will come away from this course knowing how to apply the “11-Steps to Heaven Protocol” (based on the approach of Dr. John Upledger\, D.O.\, O.M.M.D.) to a wide variety of patients and conditions. \nCraniosacral Therapy deals with the membranes\, osseous structures (primarily the bones of the cranial vault and the sacrum)\, fascia (dural membranes & meninges)\, and cerebrospinal fluid\, which support the brain\, spinal cord\, and spinal nerve roots. Adhesions in this system can result in mild to severe dysfunction including headaches\, chronic pain\, TMJ\, and other neurological impairments. \nCourse Objectives \nObtain a clear overview of the components and functioning of the Craniosacral System.Acquire palpatory skills that will allow assessment of the Craniosacral Rhythm anywhere on the body.Understand the proper movement of the individual bones of the cranial vault and how to safely and effectively decompress them.Learn techniques for working with the myofascial system anywhere on the body to quickly\, easily\, and non-intrusively release tension and holding patterns.A partial list of conditions that these techniques can address includes the following: \n\nBack and Neck Pain Headaches and Migraines Chronic Pain\nTMJ Traumatic Head Injury Scoliosis\nChronic Fatigue Syndrome CVA Fibromyalgia\nStrains\, Sprains\, & Breaks PTSD Sleeping Disorders\nLearning Disabilities Vertigo/ Tinnitus Muscular Imbalances\n\nInstructor: Nicholas Night\, CST/ LMT/ AMMP/ CPT/ LPTA \nI founded Warm Hands Therapeutics in early 1995\, after graduating from Brenneke Massage School in Seattle (now Cortiva Institute). Prior to that\, I spent a decade as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a variety of settings. I began studying Craniosacral Therapy in 1992 & certified in that modality in 2000 through the Upledger Institute. I began teaching Craniosacral Therapy nationwide in 2001. I am certified as an Advanced Medical Massage practitioner & have been teaching Medical Massage Nationwide for the past 9 years. I am a certified Personal Trainer with a Corrective Exercise Specialty certification through NASM. \nMy classes are kept small to allow each student to leave class with a thorough understanding of the material presented & the confidence to integrate these techniques into their practice immediately. \nA comprehensive\, illustrated Course Manual is included\, providing detailed explanations of the anatomy & releases taught in this course. \nJune 14-16\, 2024: 9am-6pm Fri-Sat-Sun with an hour lunch: 24 CE Hours! \nSOLD-OUT!! Interested in a future class? SUMMARY:SOMI’s Day 3-Tensor Fascia Latae. Iliotibial Band
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Dr. Ross Turchaninov\, PhD\, MD\, LMT \n\n\n\n24 CEs approved by NCBTMB \n\n\n\nLocation: Arizona School of Medical Massage and Wellness. 8279 W Lake Pleasant Pkwy Suite 106\, Peoria\, AZ 85382 \n\n\n\nDates: Saturday\, Sunday and Monday\, February 3\, 4 & 5\, 2024 \n\n\n\nHours:  9:00 am to 6:00 pm all three days \n\n\n\nSaturday: Anterior Scalene Muscle Syndrome/Thoracic Outlet – Hands-on Training Course  \n\n\n\nSunday: Lower Back Pain (Lumbar Erectors\, Quadratus Lumborum Muscle\, Sacroiliac Joint\, Rotators) – Hands-On Training Course  \n\n\n\nMonday: Tensor Fascia Latae. Iliotibial Band – Hands-On Training Course  \n\n\n\nALL therapists MUST take Day of MM Theory in live or Webinar format to register for this class!  \n\n\n\nRegistration Fee: 3-days for $550. Therapists can select 1-day for $185 or 2-days for $370. \n\n\n\nWe will refund the enrollment fee if you don’t find the information\, we shared professionally vital.  \n\n\n\nSEMINAR PROGRAM \n\n\n\nDay 1. Medical Massage Protocol for Anterior Scalene Muscle Syndrome/Thoracic Outlet  \n\n\n\nThe Anterior Scalene Muscle Syndrome (ASMS) is nicknamed the “Silent Killer” in somatic medicine. In clinical reality\, ASMS can quietly trigger everything from Headaches to Middle Back Pain and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. To isolate and quickly decompress the ASM means controlling the many pathological conditions in the upper body.   \n\n\n\nDuring this course\, we will discuss the unique pathology of ASMS\, its evaluation\, identification\, and an effective treatment protocol that decisively eliminates anterior neck tension and decompresses the brachial plexus.  \n\n\n\nDay 2. Medical Massage Protocol for Lower Back Pain (a.k.a. Lumbalgia)  \n\n\n\nLower Back Pain (LBP) is a general name for many syndromes that contribute to this widespread pathology. In other words\, it is a multifaced enemy. Clinical success depends on the ability of the therapist to correctly identify and target the initial triggers rather than secondary syndromes\, which are frequently the most prominent.  \n\n\n\nDuring this course\, we will cover the anatomy and pathology of the lumbar area\, necessary evaluation and testing skills to develop correct treatment strategy for tension in the Lumbar Erectors\, Quadratus Lumborum muscle\, Sacroiliac Joint and Rotators.   \n\n\n\nDay 3. Medical Massage Protocols for Tensor Fascia Lata Muscle and the Iliotibial Band (IT Band) Hands-On Training Course  \n\n\n\nThe third day of the class covers the most frequent cause of pain and dysfunction in the lateral hip and knee joints as well as the lateral aspect of the thigh. The class begins with the anatomy and physiology of the Tensor Fascia Lata Muscle and the Iliotibial Band (IT Band).  \n\n\n\nAfterward\, we discuss possible causes of tension in the Tensor Fascia Lata Muscle and evaluate all soft tissue aspects on a layer-by-layer basis. The rest of the day is dedicated to hands-on training in Medical Massage Protocol to restore the function of the Tensor Fascia Lata muscle and the IT Band. \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\nAbout presenter: Dr. Ross Turchaninov  \n\n\n\nProfessional Reviews of SOMI’s publications by medical and massage communities: Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » Book Reviews  \n\n\n\nWhat is Medical Massage? : Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » What IS medical massage?  \n\n\n\nAbout SOMI’s Medical Massage Certification Program: Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » Medical Massage Certification Program  \n\n\n\nOur former students (CMMPs) who successfully graduated SOMI’s Program talk about their educational experiences and clinical successes: SOMI TESTIMONIALS – YouTube \n\n\n\nFor therapists new to SOMI\, please visit the Journal of Massage Science to get and in-depth understanding the valuable professional information we offer during our training.   \n\n\n\nTo receive information from SOMI\, please register under FREE REGISTRATIOn: Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » FREE REGISTRATION \n\n\n\nIf you would like to speak to someone in the office\, please call (602) 561-9532\, or email aesculapr@hotmail.com  \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you soon and advancing your practice together! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
