SUMMARY:SER1: SomatoEmotional Release 1: Full Range of CranioSacral Therapy Tools for Supporting Gentle Trauma Resolution
DESCRIPTION:International Association of Healthcare Practitioners (IAHP) \n\n\n\nPre-requisite Workshop(s):CranioSacral Therapy 2 (CS2) in-person class or equivalent; and reviewing\, assimilating and applying what was presented in CS2. This course is intended for licensed or certified healthcare professionals. \n\n\n\nDescription:You will learn about the physiological mechanism of disease and will participate in hands-on training to facilitate the SomatoEmotional Release (SER) process. By the end of the course\, you should be able to dissipate residual effects of past trauma and negative emotional experiences from the body and mind of your patients/clients. In order to observe closure for sessions you are involved in\, please make sure the instructor is aware of any current pregnancies in your group. \n\n\n\nA helpful layperson description of the SER process is available for download at http://gofile.me/29lfe/H0CDJNBDK. \n\n\n\nAdvance Preparation:As a student transitioning from CS2 into SomatoEmotional Release 1 (SER1)\, prior to SER1 attendance\, it is recommended that you: \n\n\n\n~Continue practicing 10-step protocols that you started after attending CS1 \n\n\n\n~Give 20-25 complete mouth work protocols (the protocol is reviewed briefly in SER1\, but the expectation is that you are very familiar with all the techniques.) \n\n\n\n~Receive 6-8 full mouth work protocol sessions from someone skilled at the techniques (receiving is a great way to learn; look on www.upledger.com to find a therapist) \n\n\n\n~Practice arcing for energy cysts with your clients – arc at the beginning of every session. Learn to describe how you found the active lesion from a physical perspective\, and use this evaluation tool for every patient you treat. \n\n\n\n~Practice regional tissue release treatment of energy cysts\, along with the Significance Detector (SD) and be able to describe the SD. \n\n\n\n~Use whole body evaluation and treatment (including working with facilitated segments) in your treatment sessions. Be familiar with the benefits and drawbacks of all of the other whole body evaluation techniques. \n\n\n\n~Integrate CST into your treatment sessions wherever possible so that you may gain more confidence with all the techniques of CS1 and CS2—even if you are using a different treatment approach. \n\n\n\nTo complement the material that will be presented in the workshop\, it is recommended that students read SomatoEmotional Release and Beyond by John E. Upledger\, DO\, OMM\, available at http://shop.iahe.com/…/SomatoEmotional-Release-and-Beyond and Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher and William Ury\, available at http://shop.iahe.com/Product…/All-Products/Getting-to-Yes.. Your preparation and your participation are both very important. Your attendance is necessary during lab and lecture. \n\n\n\nThese recommendations have been prepared by the Upledger Institute Faculty after decades of experience in teaching CranioSacral Therapy. These guidelines will help ensure that you will be well prepared to get the most benefit in your next step of training. Preparation and practice time will lead to more confidence\, deeper learning in class\, and better outcomes for your patients. \n\n\n\nSupplies:When needed or desired\, you are expected to provide your own face mask and eye goggles/glasses for mouth work and other similar and appropriate lab times. \n\n\n\nAttire:Wear loose\, comfortable clothing (preferably no jeans.) A light jacket is recommended because temperature can be difficult to control. Due to potential chemical sensitivities of your classmates\, please refrain from wearing perfumes or oils to class. \n\n\n\nTimes:Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on the first day of class. Coffee and tea will be served until 9:00 a.m.\, at which time the workshop will begin. Subsequent class hours begin at 9:00 a.m.\, except the last day which begins at 8:00 a.m. \n\n\n\nDue to the nature of the work done in this course\, afternoon lab session ending times cannot be pre-determined – most stay as late as 6:30-7:30 p.m. each day in order to have lab completion\, and slightly earlier on the last day. We advise that you do not make evening commitments as session ending times vary. Please plan accordingly. \n\n\n\nMeeting Site/Lodging:Arizona School of Medical Massage and Wellness8279 W Lake Pleasant Pkwy\, Suite 106Peoria AZ 85382 \n\n\n\nNearby Hotels:Hampton Inn Peoria8408 W Paradise LanePreoria\, AZ 85382623.486.9918 \n\n\n\nDirections to Meeting Site:Please use Google maps for directions. \n\n\n\nCancellation/Refund Policy:Our preference is to have all students attend their class as planned. Plans changing within 29 days of a class start date cause significant and costly implications for our operations to support your planned attendance. \n\n\n\nTransfer to a new class date: No fee up until 29 days prior to the class start date.Transfer to another class 29-15 days in advance: $100 logistics and planning fee.Transfer to another class less than 15 days of class start date: $200 logistics and planning fee.Tuition less the applicable logistics fee is non-refundable. \n\n\n\nCancellation of class: Fully refundable more than 29 days prior to the class start date. SUMMARY:PNMT for the Hip and Thigh
DESCRIPTION:PNMT for the Hip and Thigh – 8 NCBTMB CEs $230 early bird\, $250 normal \n\n\n\nThe vital role of the hip as a source of pain and its role in healthy movement is often overlooked. Issues of the hip may present local pain but can also greatly effect areas both above and below. For instance\, restrictions in the hip demand that the low back compensate\, leading to low back pain. Treatment of the low back (where the symptoms present) will be frustratingly unsuccessful. It is common to have hip pain where no visible pathology is discovered\, precise soft tissue approaches can be amazingly effective. The focus of this seminar is on accurate assessment strategies and effective treatment techniques to help you treat the right structure for the right reason. We don’t just teach you how\, we teach you why! \n\n\n\nEveryone can register through www.pnmt.org/seminar-schedule. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:PNMT for the Leg and Foot
DESCRIPTION:PNMT for the Leg and Foot – 8 NCBTMB CEs $230 early bird\, $250 normal \n\n\n\nThis seminar is essentially the second half of the Lower Extremity seminar. In it\, the participant will first explore pain conditions of the knee. There are many soft-tissue conditions that create medial and lateral knee pain\, all of them related to different muscles and ligaments. Some of the soft-tissue symptoms overlap with more serious intra-joint ligamentous issues. Participants will learn how to make good judgments as to the source of the pain and how to address it effectively. In the lower leg\, conditions affecting the anterior and posterior shin splints\, calf pain\, and pain syndromes of the feet (such as plantar fasciitis) will be explored. The participant will leave with clear clinical reasoning skills to determine the source of a client’s pain and the technical skills to positively affect that pain.   \n\n\n\nEveryone can register through. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
