SUMMARY:Understanding & Transforming Chronic Pain by Arnold Askew
DESCRIPTION:Retraining Neural-Circuits & Neuromuscular Habits14 CE Hours + Approved by NCBTMB \n\n\n\nUnderstanding & Transforming Chronic Pain: \n\n\n\nAn In-depth Introduction to the Theory and Techniques of Somatic Therapy \n\n\n\nThis class will review the latest neuroscience the brain plays in the perception and persistence of pain. This knowledge will quickly help us see the difference between “neuroplastic” and structurally caused pain. Understanding this is essential for consistent and successful treatment. First\, we’ll review techniques to address the neuro-circuitry linked to chronic pain. Then we’ll use somatic education to change inefficient patterns of dysfunction. Therapeutically we’ll use “awareness-based touch and movement” to awaken proprioceptive centers and stimulate healthier neurological activity. A variety of injuries\, pathologies and conditions will be discussed to make the information relevant for actual practice. \n\n\n\nThough all of this may sound overwhelming\, it comes together with simple techniques that are easy to apply and are gentle on the therapist. The work is relationship-based\, so we will look at how to bring our clients into a healthier relationship with their own healing. And this process starts with us. We will use basic developmental movements to start our own process of self-exploration.    With this “self-knowledge” our goal will be to help our clients become more autonomous and involved in whatever conditions may be a part of their lives. \n\n\n\nPlease wear clothing that allows unrestricted movement\, and bring a mat or blanket for movement explorations on the floor. \n\n\n\n$350 Somatic Therapy and CE Courses by Arnold Askew \n\n\n\nClass objectives: \n\n\n\n1) Develop an understanding of the causes and currentapproach for the treatment of chronic pain. Specifically\, review the recentresearch into pain caused by neuroplastic changes and/or somatic deficiencies. \n\n\n\n2) Develop strategies to effectively treat such conditions. Focus to be ondeveloping awareness-based touch and movement to awaken proprioceptivecenters and stimulate new neurological activity. \n\n\n\n3) Learn to integrate newtheories and techniques into current massage or other practices. \n\n\n\nClass Participants comments and feedback \n\n\n\n“I really enjoyed Arnold’s method of teaching\, great sense of humor\, very intuitive\, would takehis class anytime” D. Anson“The course was so helpful to push me into a deeper understanding of how I\, as a practitioner\,can facilitate healing efficiency\, awareness\, and better movement in my clients. Being able toexperience and feel the profound changes with subtle work will add much more dimension to mywork as a Rolfer.” P. Reaves“Really excited about this information\, wish general public could be educated about this.” V.Cook“Thank you for your wonderful presentation. I appreciated your willingness to “tell it like it is”\,even if it may not fit so clearly into the traditional confines of our field. I feel like you have a wellthought out\, clearly articulated and focused workshop. And I have both something I can takewith me and apply now and a path for continuing my inquiry.” T. Wilson“Before I met Arnold I was in constant pain. He showed me how to understand the patterns I hadgotten into. I am very grateful to him\, first because the pain never came back\, and secondbecause he taught me how to care for myself.” N Feige\, Teacher\, Mother \n\n\n\nParticipant Reviews of 2024 AMTA National Convention Presentation·       Loved the class. SUMMARY:Muscle Management® for Knee Problems and Injuries
DESCRIPTION:Tactile Vision \n\n\n\nThe Knee \n\n\n\nIn this class\, anatomy moves into your hands. \n\n\n\nBy building a knee out of clay from the bones outward\, layer by layer\, you develop tactile vision\, the ability to recognize balance\, restriction\, and distortion through touch\, not just knowledge. \n\n\n\nThis hands-on process bridges anatomy and clinical work\, supporting clearer assessment and more precise technique. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMuscle Management® for Knee Problems and Injuries\n\n\n\nJuly 18-19 \n\n\n\nSat-Sun 9-5 each day \n\n\n\nArizona School of Medical Massage and Wellness\, LLC \n\n\n\n8279 W Lake Pleasant Pkwy\, Suite 106\, Peoria\, AZ 85382 \n\n\n\nClass size limited to 12 \n\n\n\n13 NCBTMB CE’s \n\n\n\nThe Berry Method® \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n Steve Kubby\, Editor-in-Chief at “Alpine World” \n\n\n\n The Berry Method® Whole-Body Approach \n\n\n\n Introduction to Corrective Massage \n\n\n\n Taum who? \n\n\n\n The Fundamentals of Corrective Massage \n\n\n\nRe-balancing the knee…One muscle at a time. \n\n\n\nOne of many unique components of The Berry Method® is its explicit recognition that muscle tissues have an optimum natural functional position and can become misaligned due to trauma\, adaptation\, or other factors. \n\n\n\nSometimes\, it’s as simple as putting the tissue back where it belongs. The Knee class includes both a regional and a specific\, in-depth precision focus on Knee anatomy and the corrective techniques to return balance and pain-free movement. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this class\, you’ll build a knee out of clay from the bones outward\, layer by layer. This hands-on process will give you a tactile understanding of how the bones\, ligaments\, tendons\, and muscles work together for healthy knee function. \n\n\n\nAs we sculpt and assemble each part\, you’ll also learn the idiosyncrasies of each tissue and how to recognize when something is out of balance. Along the way\, rebalancing techniques to stretch\, correct\, and manipulate each structure will be presented\, practiced\, and reviewed. \n\n\n\nEach model will include: \n\n\n\nBones (landmarks for palpation): \n\n\n\nFemur\, Fibula\, Tibia\, and Patella \n\n\n\nLigaments: \n\n\n\nACL & PCL Cruciate Ligaments \n\n\n\nMCL and LCL Collateral Ligaments \n\n\n\nMuscles & Tendons: \n\n\n\nPopliteus \n\n\n\nPlantaris \n\n\n\nGastrocnemius \n\n\n\nBiceps Femoris \n\n\n\nSemimembranosus and Semitendinosus \n\n\n\nGracilis \n\n\n\nTensor Fasciae Latae \n\n\n\nArticularis Genus \n\n\n\nVastus Medialis \n\n\n\nVastus Intermedius \n\n\n\nVastus Lateralis \n\n\n\nRectus Femoris \n\n\n\nPatellar Tendon \n\n\n\nSartorius \n\n\n\nThe bones serve as tactile landmarks\, helping you locate and identify the surrounding muscles with your hands and fingers. SUMMARY:Bonacci Method of Regenerative Alignment: RegenAlign™ - Introduction
DESCRIPTION:Specific Purpose: How to safely and effectively treat severe\, acute and chronic\, complicated pain and injury; how to differentiate between nerve-origin pain and musculoskeletal-origin pain\, as well as identify multiple origins. Big Picture: The utilization of multiple thought processes\, sciences and perspectives designed to optimize whole body integration necessary to ignite optimal healing environment for both the patient and physician. Prioritize and preserve safety and effectiveness in manual therapy that can be applied to all levels of massage.Learning Outcomes:1. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of acute and chronic\, complicated pain and injury\, and embrace an advanced perspective on the pain patient\, showing a sensitivity toward how touch is logically and expertly applied in various circumstances. 2. Students will demonstrate a keen ability to assess the origin or origins of the pain. (Not a diagnosis\, but simply finding the root of the pain) 3. Students will demonstrate an understanding of how the muscles\, fascia\, nerves and joints operate together and effect one another\, as well as show an ability to determine which to focus on first\, second\, third\, fourth. 4. Students will demonstrate the ability to distinguish between an intellectually thoughtful\, therapeutically effective touch — and simply a relaxing touch that will not have the desired healing effect on a pain patient and may irritate the patient further. 5. Students will demonstrate the ability to manually disrupt the pain path through the nerves\, and manually activate the correct nerve flow. 6. Students will show an understanding of recognizing visually proper joint alignment. 7. Students will demonstrate correct myofascial touch and movement through a muscle. 8. Students will demonstrate knowledge to guide at-home self-care\, appropriate exercises and proper resting positions. \n\n\n\nCategory: Neuromuscular Therapy \n\n\n\nTuition Amount $500\, Early Bird $450 \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCEU Registration in Scottsdale\, AZ | Scottsdale Chiropractorarizonapainandposture.com

SUMMARY:Somatic Mindfulness
DESCRIPTION:Aug 29\, 30\, 31- Somatic Mindfulness-Grounding/Expansion/Radiance 1-2-3 Day Options $209-$389-$529\, 8CEs-16CEs-24CEs Dr. Fernando Rojas https://somaticmindfulness.co/smworkshops/az2026 \n\n\n\n\nRecover from physical and mental burnout.\n\n\n\nRediscover how to work sustainably.\n\n\n\nRekindle your love for your practice and purpose.\n\n\n\nReinforce your techniques with somatic touch in your next session.\n\n\n\n\nChoose 1\, 2 or 3 days of Somatic Mindfulness GROUNDING\, EXPANSION and/or RADIANCE. \n\n\n\n\n$209: 8CEs\n\n\n\n$389: 16CEs\n\n\n\n$529: 24CEs\n\n\n\n\nPhysical and emotional burnout and injury are prevalent among massage therapists. Somatic Mindfulness bridges somatics and bodywork\, teaching self-care as a professional skill\, making the therapist’s own wellbeing the method for creating the conditions for healing\, intuitive insight\, and clarity of purpose. \n\n\n\n\nAug. 29: GROUNDING attuned touch invites the feet\, legs\, and hips to remember their innate stability and support\, sharing their wisdom of rooting and rising with the rest of the body.\n\n\n\nAug 30: EXPANSION our responsive hands invite the breath to return to its natural fullness and flow\, allowing the torso\, back\, arms\, and shoulders to remember their capacity for strength and openness.\n\n\n\nAug 31: RADIANCE attuned touch allows the neck\, head\, and face to remember their natural clarity and lightness\, sharing that freedom with the rest of the body.\n\n\n\n\nThrough Attuned Touch\, each workshop invites discovery rather than direction\, allowing the body to remember how it already knows to heal. \n\n\n\nSomatic Mindfulness does not replace what therapists already practice. It magnifies it by making embodied awareness and self-regulation central to how touch is applied\, received\, and sustained. \n\n\n\n\n\nTestimonials \n\n\n\n“This class changed my life and the trajectory of my business! It also helped me to look at each little life lesson as an opportunity. I am now holding space for people through body-oriented coaching and Somatic Touch Therapy. Each time I have practiced attuned touch and embodied presence I have felt myself calming too. This class was a life-changing\, mindset-shift tutorial that I will practice for the rest of my life.”“Dearest Fernando\, this class was powerful and transformed me in so many ways. I am a different person. I now feel love for myself and put myself first. Your loving kindness allowed me to feel safe to speak and be seen. You have changed my life. Today was the first day I massaged with no pain. I said no to deep work. This class helped me love what I do again.”“After driving six hours home from class I stopped at a grocery store. Normally I despise grocery shopping\, but everything felt in slow motion. The buzzing around me didn’t bother me. I was fully present and floating through the aisles. Even the raindrops on my car became beautiful. That’s when I knew something in me had changed.”“This course was absolutely life-changing for me! I can’t wait to go deeper and to offer it to my clients. I would recommend it to any bodyworker—or really any human—looking to deepen their connection with themselves and with others.”“It’s hard to put into words how much this workshop has impacted me. After twenty years of massage I have a completely new way of approaching mindfulness. The biggest takeaway was self-love. I didn’t realize how much I needed to learn these simple yet effective ways to listen\, pause\, and be present with myself first. I am forever grateful for this experience.”“This experience was definitely life-changing. I didn’t know what I signed up for\, just looking to complete my CE requirements. I’ve learned techniques that will help me be a more in-tuned individual. So grateful for Fernando. His sensitivity allows you to feel vulnerable and soft. This was the beginning of something great for me.”“My experience with Fernando in the class was superb! In forty years as a massage therapist\, he is one of the best. He led with his heart as well as his mind in this brilliant\, beautiful class.”“This class was steeped in love\, awareness\, knowledge\, wit\, respect\, and humor. Perfect for those who need a personal reset in a safe community that will translate to family and clients. Unforgettable.”“I believe this class has the ability to not only change your life but the lives of your clients and everyone you encounter. I will definitely be attending the next class.”“This class was a beautiful surprise\, a homecoming to my own body and being. I left deeply relaxed and restored\, with fresh perspectives I plan to explore with my toughest clients. Fernando has cultivated something truly special.” \n\n\n\n— \n\n\n\nDownload a free chapter from my book Embodied Presence & Attuned Touch. \n\n\n\n— \n\n\n\nJoin my mailing list here. \n\n\n\n— \n\n\n\nSomatic Mindfulness by Fernando Rojas LMT PhD \n\n\n\nMaster Somatic Educator & Therapist \n\n\n\nTherapeutic Massage Hall of Fame Inducteehttps://somaticmindfulness.co/ \n\n\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/somatic.mindfulnesshttps://www.instagram.com/somatic.mindfulness/ \n\n\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/somaticmindfulness \n\n\n\n(908) 938-4791 \n\n\n\nSomatic Mindfulness workshops by Fernando Rojas LMT PhD are approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and also sponsored by NCBTMB to teach New York licensed massage therapists continuing education that is accepted by the state of New York for license renewal. Trager Switzerland recognizes the workshops as a genuine application of Trager Therapy principles to complement massage therapy and bodywork. SUMMARY:PNMT-Cervical Spine (Two Day) in Phoenix\, Arizona - 16 NCBTMB CEs
DESCRIPTION:The reality is\, neck pain is complex. Releasing the suboccipitals can be wonderful in certain circumstances\, disastrous in others. There is no routine that works for all the different iterations of possible neck issues. In PNMT\, we don’t teach routines\, we focus in reasoning and problem solving. That takes time and expert guidance from the instructor. There is NO substitute for hands-on experience and the guidance of a mentor\, especially in an area so small and complex as the neck. \n\n\n\nBook Here: https://www.pnmt.org/event-details/cervical-spine-two-day-in-phoenix-arizona-16-ncbtmb-ces-2

Intercostal Nerve Neuralgia Hands-On Training Course \n\n\n\n        The class covers tension in the middle back muscles: the lower trapezius\, paravertebral muscles\, and rhomboids. The important part of the class is interactions between ribs and intercostal muscles\, as well as their role in Intercostal Nerve Neuralgia. \n\n\n\nWe start with the anatomy\, physiology\, and function of all major players\, including the respiratory system. We cover soft-tissue evaluation of the middle back and chest\, layer by layer\, and all Medical Massage protocols to eliminate tension in the soft tissues\, including respiratory techniques to decompress affected soft tissues. Homework for patients as a preventive measure is also discussed. \n\n\n\nDay 2: Medical Massage Protocol for Pectorials Major and Minor Muscle Syndrome Hands-On Training Course \n\n\n\n          We start this class with the evaluation and treatment of patients with tension and spasms of pectoral muscles. From mimicking Cardiac Pain in the form of Fase Cardialgia Syndrome to various abnormalities in the function of the upper extremities\, tension in the pectoral muscles is indeed very frequently mistreated with somatic syndrome. \n\n\n\n          We will discuss all anatomical and pathological aspects\, as well as detailed evaluation of the soft tissues layer by layer and hands-on application of the Medical Massage protocol. \n\n\n\nDay 3: Medical Massage Protocol for TMJ Dysfunction/Benign Positioning Vertigo Hands-On Training Course \n\n\n\n          The first part of the class is a detailed discussion of the anatomy and physiology of the Temporomandibular Joint\, as well as all causes of its dysfunction. We will cover a step-by-step evaluation of the soft tissues in the suboccipital\, temporal\, and TMJ areas. This part of the class finishes with a step-by-step application of the Medical Massage protocol to eliminate tension in the soft tissues that control TMJ function and to decompress the joint itself\, restoring the patient’s normal bite. \n\n\n\n          The second part of the class explains the complex chain of events that triggers Positioning Vertigo and presents highly effective Semont’s Protocol to eliminate it by resetting otoliths in the inner ear. \n\n\n\nAbout presenter: Dr. Ross Turchaninov  \n\n\n\nProfessional Reviews of SOMI’s publications by medical and massage communities: Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » Book Reviews  \n\n\n\nWhat is Medical Massage? Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » What IS medical massage?  \n\n\n\nAbout SOMI’s Medical Massage Certification Program: Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » Medical Massage Certification Program  \n\n\n\nOur former students (CMMPs) who successfully graduated SOMI’s Program talk about their educational experiences and clinical successes: SOMI TESTIMONIALS – YouTube \n\n\n\nFor therapists new to SOMI\, please visit the Journal of Massage Science to get and in-depth understanding the valuable professional information we offer during our training.  \n\n\n\nTo receive information from SOMI\, please register under FREE REGISTRATION: Medical Massage Courses & Certification | Science of Massage Institute » FREE REGISTRATION \n\n\n\nIf you would like to speak to someone in the office\, please call (602) 561-9532\, or email aesculapr@hotmail.com  \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you soon and advancing your practice together!
