This comprehensive workshop will teach you the tools to work with women before, during, and after pregnancy. Students will learn techniques and standards for pregnancy, labor, and postpartum that address the physiological, structural, and emotional well-being of both mother and baby. Hands-on practice includes advanced side-lying techniques that not only support perinatal clients, but provide easier access to key muscles and structures that can be challenging to reach prone or supine—helping therapists work smarter, not harder.

Students will explore common perinatal complaints, contraindications, complications and risk factors, labor comfort techniques, and restoring musculature and postural integrity postpartum. The course also explores behavioral health and the powerful role a therapist’s words, touch, and presence can have on a mother’s sense of safety, choices, birth experience, early bonding, and the lasting influence of prenatal, birth, and postpartum experiences.

Bring to class: 3 sets of sheets, at least 3-5 pillows, a top blanket, hand towel, massage lotion/oil/creme, pen and paper, and a water bottle.
