Orthopedic Chair Massage Upper Body Day 1

Description:
This advanced Orthopedic Chair Massage – Upper Body course is designed for massage therapists looking to enhance their skills in targeted upper body pain relief and mobility techniques. Participants will learn orthopedic massage, active release (ART), proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), and advanced chair stretches to effectively address tension, restricted mobility, and chronic pain in the neck, shoulders, upper back, and arms. The course includes anatomy review, hands-on practice, and partner work, allowing participants to refine their ability to assess and treat common conditions such as thoracic outlet syndrome, frozen shoulder, and tension headaches.

By the end of the course, attendees will confidently integrate these techniques into their chair massage practice for clients in corporate, event, and clinical settings.

  • Identify common upper body pain conditions such as thoracic outlet syndrome, frozen shoulder, and tension headaches.
  • Review Relevant Upper Body Anatomy Identify key muscles of the neck (SCM, scalenes, trapezius), shoulders (deltoids, rotator cuff), upper back (rhomboids, latissimus dorsi), and arms (biceps, triceps, forearm muscles).
  • Understand common tension areas and their impact on movement and pain patterns.
  • Learn and Apply Key Chair Massage Techniques Perform orthopedic massage techniques to assess and treat upper body dysfunction.
  • Demonstrate Active Release Technique (ART) or Pin & Stretch for the trapezius, rhomboids, deltoids, and rotator cuff.
  • Execute Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching to improve shoulder range of motion and muscle flexibility. Integrate advanced chair stretching techniques to relieve upper body tension and improve posture.
  • Develop Hands-On Proficiency in Application Assess and treat upper body tension and mobility restrictions using chair massage techniques.
  • Work with a partner to practice hands-on techniques and refine body mechanics for seated massage.
  • Adapt techniques for different client needs and seated massage scenarios.
  • Integrate Techniques into Professional Practice Analyze case studies to determine appropriate techniques for specific conditions.
  • Develop a plan for incorporating orthopedic chair massage techniques into workplace, event, and clinical settings. Receive and provide constructive feedback to refine skills.

Orthopedic Chair Massage Lower Body Day 2

Description:
This Orthopedic Chair Massage – Lower Body course is designed to teach massage therapists effective techniques for addressing lower body pain, tightness, and mobility restrictions while using a massage chair. Participants will learn orthopedic massage, active release (ART), proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), and advanced chair stretches for treating the hips, thighs, calves, ankles, and feet. The hands-on training will focus on assessing and treating common conditions such as sciatica, IT band syndrome, and plantar fasciitis. By integrating these techniques into their practice, therapists will be able to provide pain relief and improve functional movement for clients in a seated position, making this an excellent addition for those working in corporate, sports, and clinical massage settings.

Learn and Apply Key Chair Massage Techniques Perform orthopedic massage techniques to assess and treat lower body dysfunction.

Demonstrate Active Release Technique (ART) for the hamstrings, quadriceps, calf muscles, and iliopsoas.

Execute Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching to improve hip mobility, hamstring flexibility, and ankle function.
