NCBTMB#451668-11 Early Bird Registration by June 18th $450: https://square.link/u/zwxhsLt5 After June 18th $550: https://square.link/u/dhJ2YZ15 Course Description: This comprehensive 3-day workshop will teach you the necessary tools to empower families, while they learn to calm, connect and communicate with their child, in individual or group classes. We will cover infant massage and early bonding techniques for the newly conceived, the healthy newborn, adaptations for children as they grow, and injuries relating to school-aged children. We will also cover transitions for special needs including autism, Down Syndrome, hearing and visual impairments, babies born early, medically fragile, adoption and fostering issues. Students will be able to identify the different behavioral states and read baby cues, as well as the different types of cries communicated and meaning behind non-verbal body language.  Students will be able to help parents with issues like colic, constipation, teething, chest congestion and asthma. Students will learn supportive techniques such as swaddling, use of white noise, and an introduction to energy techniques such as, Reiki and Cranial Sacral. Students will learn about prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of all kinds of abuse, including substance, physical, verbal, and sexual, or neglect. You will also learn the intelligence of playing and how music and games can be added to help parents and babies learn from each other. Current evidence-based research and marketing are covered to help your business grow!  OBJECTIVES  
  • Students will be able recite the history, benefits, and current research of infant/pediatric massage. 
  • Students will be able to list applicable infant behavioral states and cues. 
  • Students will be able to list the contraindications, safety measures and guidelines of infant/pediatric massage. 
  • Students will be able to perform infant massage strokes, stretches, exercises, and bonding games. 
  • Students will be able to perform specific strokes to help with colic, constipation, teething, chest congestion and asthma. 
  • Students will be able to teach parents and caregivers how to safely massage their babies. 
  • Students will be able to understand how pregnancy, labor and the immediate hours following birth affect bonding and attachment, and how infant massage can be a necessary tool. 
  • Students will be able to apply adaptations and transitions for infants with special needs including: 
autism, Downs Syndrome, premature/NICU/critical care, cerebral palsy, adopted/fostered infants, and working with young/teen parents. 
  • Students will be able to explain brain development in the womb through the first few years and how 
touch/infant massage plays a role. 
  • Students will be able to perform and teach pediatric massage for school aged children.
