SEMINAR PROGRAM
Day 1. Medical Massage Protocol for Chronic Cervical Pain During the class, we will cover anatomy, physiology, pathology, and examination of the major causes of tension in the posterior cervical muscles: Trapezius and Levator Scapulae muscles. Next, we will discuss the detailed evaluation of the soft tissues in the posterior neck and upper shoulders on a layer-by-layer basis. Finally, we will cover step-by-step Medical Massage Protocol to decompress skin, fascia, posterior cervical muscles, and periosteum in the posterior neck and upper shoulders.
Day 2. Medical Massage Protocol for TMJ Dysfunction. Positioning Vertigo The first part of the class is a detailed discussion of the anatomy and physiology of the Temporomandibular Joint as well as all causes of its dysfunction. We will cover a step-by-step evaluation of the soft tissues in the suboccipital space, the temporal area, and the TMJ area. This part of the class finishes with step-by-step application of Medical Massage protocol to eliminate tension in the soft tissues, which control TMJ function and decompress the joint itself to restore the patient’s normal bite. The second part of the class explains the complex chain of events that triggers Positioning Vertigo and presents highly effective Semont’s Protocol to eliminate it by resetting otoliths in the inner ear.
Day 3. Medical Massage Protocols for Soft Tissue Trauma. Leg Compartment Syndrome. Plantar Fasciitis During the first part of the class, we will teach therapists how to ‘read’ large hematomas to speed up tissue recovery and prevent side effects of soft tissue trauma: fascial adhesions and muscle shortenings. In the second part of the class, we will cover evaluation and Medical Massage protocols for all Leg Compartment Syndromes and Plantar Fasciitis.
