KAIMANAKOA LOMILOMI is an immersive 16-hour continuing education course that explores the traditional Hawaiian art of healing touch. Rooted in the lineage of "temple-style" Lomilomi, this course focuses on long, sweeping full-body connective strokes that are rhythmic and fluid, incorporating forearm and elbow techniques to achieve deep release. The practice is complemented by Hawaiian music that induces a trance-like theta state, allowing both practitioner and client to experience profound relaxation and energetic balance. Students will learn the sacred, ceremonial aspects of Lomilomi, emphasizing the importance of breath, intention, and flow in their practice. This course also includes a detailed and specific abdominal massage, an essential component of traditional healing, as well as stretching techniques to enhance mobility and function. Throughout this two-day training, participants will engage in lecture, demonstration, hands-on practice, and competency check-offs to integrate both technical skills and the spiritual philosophy of Lomilomi into their massage practice.
