If becoming a massage therapist has been on your mind, you don’t have to wait until next year to get started.
The Arizona School of Medical Massage & Wellness in Peoria, Arizona, is enrolling for our September 1, 2026 Evening Medical Massage & Wellness Program, and only 2 seats remain.
This evening massage therapy program is designed for students who need to work, manage family responsibilities, or simply need an alternative to a traditional daytime school schedule.
Attend Massage Therapy School in the Evening
Our September 1 class meets:
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
6:00 PM–10:00 PM
Program length: approximately 9 months
Students complete our 700-hour hybrid Medical Massage & Wellness Program, combining in-person, hands-on training with online coursework.
The concentrated evening schedule gives students the opportunity to pursue a new career while maintaining more flexibility during the day.
More Than Learning a Massage Routine
At the Arizona School of Medical Massage & Wellness, we believe massage therapy education should teach students how to think, not simply how to memorize a routine.
Students begin with the foundations of massage therapy and gradually learn to connect anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, assessment, and hands-on techniques.
Training throughout the program includes:
- Anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
- Muscle anatomy and palpation
- Pathology and contraindications
- Medical massage concepts
- Clinical interviewing
- Functional and orthopedic assessment concepts
- Critical thinking and clinical reasoning
- Regional massage techniques
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Prenatal, pediatric, and geriatric massage
- Working with special populations
- Business, ethics, and professional development
- Supervised student clinic experience
The goal is to help students understand not only how to perform massage techniques, but also why and when they may be appropriate.
Developing Clinical Reasoning Skills
Clients don’t always walk into a massage office asking for a simple relaxation massage.
They may have neck pain, headaches, shoulder problems, low-back pain, previous injuries, surgeries, chronic conditions, or other concerns that affect how a massage session should be approached.
Our students learn to ask better questions.
What is the client’s primary concern? What does their health history tell us? Are there precautions or contraindications? What tissues may be involved? How should the session be modified? Is massage appropriate, or should the client be referred to another healthcare professional?
Within the massage therapist’s scope of practice, students learn to gather information, assess what they are seeing and feeling, develop an appropriate treatment approach, and adapt their massage accordingly.
These are skills that become increasingly important when working with clients seeking massage for pain, injuries, and medical or wellness concerns.
Hands-On Massage Therapy Training
Massage therapy is a hands-on profession, which is why in-person practice remains an important part of our hybrid program.
Students practice with classmates and participate in supervised clinical experiences as they progress through their education.
This allows them to develop more than technique. They also practice communication, professionalism, client interviewing, session planning, time management, documentation, critical thinking, and the ability to adapt a massage session to the individual in front of them.
By graduation, students have had opportunities to put the pieces together in a real-world clinical environment.
An Affordable Path to a Massage Therapy Career
Returning to school is a major decision, and cost can be one of the biggest concerns for prospective students.
The Arizona School of Medical Massage & Wellness offers interest-free payment plans to help make massage therapy education more manageable.
Our goal is to provide an affordable pathway into the massage therapy profession while offering an education that goes beyond the basics.
